One of the sex scenes is extremely hot, maybe one of the hottest I've ever read. Also unconventional and I really appreciated that because sometimes sex scenes in this genre feel a little cookie-cutter. This one showed that there are other ways lesbians can have sex than just what Hollywood puts in movies. So, transporting writing, good handling of romance, horror, mystery and suspense, engaging leads with great chemistry, definitely pick it up.
Dec 03, Nikki rated it really liked it Shelves: I really enjoyed this book, even if I wanted to smack the living daylights out of the Leone character for not spilling any info when Amy starts finding some seriously unavoidable evidence regarding the mysteries of the valley. Overall though, great humor, good snarky dialogue and I'll probably almost immediately start reading the rest of the series posthaste! Someone runs amok and they had to hunt down this evil.
This evil who poses a threat for the whole family.
Amy wants nothing to do with Leone and she would do anything to avoid her. When Amy must return to Little Dip, she finds danger, intrigue, heartache and a very different life. Totally different as when she left so many years ago. This is a gripping, suspenseful story with lots of love and packed full of actions. A story with unexpected twists and an uncomfortable surprise. The well developed characters draw you in and keep you riveted. Goldenseal I don't understand why I've waited so long reading this series?
It is now one of my favorite and I recommend it highly to everyone. Do not miss it!
Dec 31, Kitty Kat rated it it was amazing Shelves: I loved this book. When she comes back to hel I loved this book. When she comes back to help with the almanac the family Publishing company puts out every year, she begins to notice things and ask questions. The mystery behind it all was fascinating and at times a bit scary.
The whole atmosphere of secrecy was oppressive and added to the menacing feeling. It was also sexy and romantic and caring. Jan 05, Balthazaar rated it really liked it. In Goldenseal, the world of Little Dip, and the Garoul family that preserve it, is well enough drawn to have you believing in werewolves almost.
The story is funny, a little spooky and has enough tension to keep the pages turning long after the lights should be out.
The main characters are full of a passion and intensity that is really compelling. And despite the strange setting, the issues are really relevant. For me, Leone's fears and insecurities are kind of universal. It's scary letting pe In Goldenseal, the world of Little Dip, and the Garoul family that preserve it, is well enough drawn to have you believing in werewolves almost.
It's scary letting people see who you truly are, even when you're not a werewolf. At times the story did make me flinch and wonder for the safety of some of the residents of this world.
But at the end, I closed the cover and went looking for the second in the series straight away. Aug 18, Jae Jae rated it liked it. I really liked the sequel, Ambereye, though. Oct 04, Siri rated it it was ok Shelves: I liked parts of this book, but I did react pretty strongly to some issues. It was exciting and kept me reading it all night long, but the thing with the non consensual sex really kind of ruined for me. Same rating as first read. See my review at http: Nov 03, Tara rated it really liked it Shelves: I don't want to say too much because this would be a very easy book to spoil, but I really liked it and would definitely recommend it.
Aug 19, C. Mack rated it it was amazing. A really good read that drew me in Jan 29, V rated it really liked it.
This was a very fun and sexy read. I don't read a lot of paranormal books, but this one really captured my imagination. I loved the setting and the author did an excellent job creating the world of Little Dip and by the end of the book I felt like wolven living amongst us didn't seem that implausible. A very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
She is awkward, contrary, and on occasion, just plain mean. Their battle of wills make for touching and amusing moments. This book is the perfect example of a sweet, wonderful romance about a rough-around-the-edges character and how love can smooth out those rough edges. Tadpole, the dog, was also a fantastic character and had me chuckling often.
The Writing Style This was a wonderful, perfectly written book. The story keeps you guessing and is unique. The Pros A simply charming book. I loved all of it. The Conclusion If you only buy one supernatural, urban fantasy, romance then make it this one.
Although, buy more because this is a great series. I loved the way McKnight explored the characters and gave us some great moments as they fell for one another.
This was truly a beautiful, sweet, well written story and I highly recommend it. So, Andre made me his assistant in your absence. But you know all about that. Andre had visited her home several times.
